Under Armour was created by Kevin Plank in 1996. Plank was a former special teams captain for the University of Maryland football team. He was just 24 when he started the company. He perfected the Under Armour design by creating a t-shirt that was built from microfibers. These microfibers wicked away sweat and moisture to keep athletes cool and dry when they were playing or working out. Known for their footwear, casual wear, and sporting goods, Under Armour’s main headquarters is in Baltimore, but they love their offices in Austin because of the city’s “chill vibes”. Their Connected Fitness headquarters is the place the company creates brand-focused products and ideas.
