In downtown austin

The Downtown Austin skyline has changed a lot. Even in the last few years, it seems like a completely different place, with new building going up all the time.

Recently, a Reddit user posted this neat side by side photo of the Texas Capitol View Corridor corridor skyline from the 1920s compared to today’s.

For those who don’t know, the Texas Capitol View Corridor are a set of view points that always maintain the visibility of the Texas Capitol building from – you guessed it – high rise buildings. One of the main view corridors is along Congress Ave. going north from Lake Austin.

As you can see in the photo above, a lot of the buildings near Congress Ave. have grown and changed with only a few of them remaining the same. From the photo, you can see that there are still a few buildings still in the same place they were in the 1920s.
